Our culture is firmly grounded in our people – in who we are, what we believe and in the ethical manner in which we treat and interact with each other and our clients.
“The financial industry fascinates me; I truly love what I do. By far, the most gratifying aspect of my work is the trust and responsibility clients instill in me to help them pursue their financial and life goals.”
Working in the investment world since 2004, Ben manages money for an array of investors and is directly responsible for executing investment strategies on behalf of individuals as well as corporations. His work includes the necessary and proper planning surrounding important financial events such as retirement, selling of a business, real estate, and other “liquidity events.” While appreciative for the skills and expertise he acquired at top Wall Street firms and running the Beck Bode Group at Merrill Lynch in Boston, Ben also learned what doesn’t work for clients in these traditional financial environments. Along the way, he discovered better ways to serve clients and their individual needs, including a highly disciplined and time-tested investing methodology.
In 2013, Ben and Co-Managing Partner Jim Bode, set out to create a firm based on their real-life experiences; one that reflects the financial world we live in today, and what matters most to clients. An organization that embodies a culture firmly grounded in the principles of trust, ethics and reliability, which results in mutually rewarding relationships with clients. Ben’s commitment to embrace these principles is further demonstrated by serving as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Highly selective, FINRA only certifies those to serve who are “neutral, qualified individuals who are essential in maintaining a fair, impartial and efficient system of arbitration”.
Finances aren’t Ben’s only passion, Ben loves being a dad of “three under three” with his wife, Danielle. For him, there’s nothing better than getting home to them after a busy workday. He’s also loyal to his squash and CrossFit workouts, his recipe for staying of sound body and mind — a ritual that stems from his days playing baseball at Northeastern University and professionally for a number of years before launching his financial career.
Jim has spent the last decade specializing in retirement planning, helping people manage their sources of retirement income, employer-sponsored retirement plans, assets and estate planning. Like Ben, Jim spent a number of years at large financial institutions including Merrill Lynch in Boston where they ran the Beck Bode Group. In 2013, they decided to take what they’d learned out in the big world, perfect it, and deliver it in a highly personal, boutique model.
An indisputable “people person”, Jim has a genuine interest and curiosity in his clients and enjoys learning about their life-long dreams and finding ways to help them achieve them. His desire to help people goes beyond work. Jim is deeply committed to a number of charitable organizations; he sits on the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army and provides council to the United Methodist Church, and volunteers at the Kroc Center in Dorchester, helping kids with afterschool programs and fitness.
While Jim gives his all to everything he does, home is his number one priority. His wife and three young kids “keep him real” and he’s thankful for that. A former captain of the Northeastern University football team, his desire to stay fit endures as an avid CrossFitter and squash player. During the warmer New England months, however, he likes to throw some golf and deep-sea fishing in the mix.
As with several of Marcelle’s colleagues, a number of her 23 years in finance were spent at large global firms, working in a range of areas within the industry including senior management roles designing and implementing innovative training, marketing and sales programs for large teams.
As a result of Marcelle’s diverse experience and as the head client relationship specialist at Beck Bode Wealth Management, her versatility and deep expertise provide a rare combination that delivers personal, immeasurable value to clients. It’s also why she played an integral role in the formation of the firm.
Outside of the office, you’ll see (and hear) Marcelle cheering for all of Boston’s fine sports teams…or, she’ll be enjoying the seas around Boston and Rhode Island, boating and fishing with her husband, Scott, and young daughter, Allie.
Becoming a financial advisor and assisting people with managing their finances is the culmination of a couple of careers and an innate desire to help people. Early on, Erik spent nearly a decade at the Marriott Corporation creating novel customer experience programs for his team and guests, which primed him for his next role as the assistant general manager for the Atlanta Ice Forum, the official practice facility for the Atlanta Thrashers, overseeing the staff and all aspects of the team’s NHL regulation ice rink facility.
Most recently, prior to launching his finance career, Erik was literally saving lives. He was a firefighter and EMT serving the citizens of greater Atlanta, not only in emergency situations, but running community oriented and fundraising events as well.
Then, after a number of years at Wall Street financial firms, Erik joined his brother’s boutique firm. It was a no brainer given their shared philosophy that a culture instilled with trust and ethics fosters enduring and rewarding relationships. He couldn’t feel more at home.
Away from the office, Erik’s usually on a tennis court or shooting pucks at a hockey rink, and true to character, helping people as a volunteer for 12Stone Church and Habitat for Humanity.
At Beck Bode, Andy concentrates on building the firm’s practice and longevity by bringing on new advisers to address the growing client roster.
Andy’s financial career spans over 25 years with a focus in the area of wholesaling funds. Most recently, he served as Regional Vice President at Calvert Investments in Boston, where he oversaw the wholesale division servicing all channels in New England. Earlier on, as he was advancing his career, he held a number of director and C-level positions at John Hancock, JP Morgan and Turner Investment Partners. It has always been very important to Andy to mentor young financiers, and has done so throughout his career.
Like many of his Beck Bode colleagues, Andy is athletic, which stems from his earlier days playing professional hockey for a number of years. Today, he volunteers as an assistant coach for the Boston Junior Bruins.
Andy and his wife Carolyn reside on Cape Cod, while their two sons attend Salem State University.
While Tricia has been a financial advisor for more than a decade, her interest and involvement in the financial industry started much earlier on and in varied ways. A job at Forbes Magazine after receiving her undergraduate degree lit a spark that led to an MBA in Finance and an Assistant Vice President role at Irving Trust Bank in New York City. There, she oversaw the Federal Funds trading desk, where billions of dollars were traded daily. Next, it was on to Fortune Magazine for a seven-year stint as a Wall Street financial reporter and an anchor of the Fortune Business Report on NY1 cable news covering personal finance, financial markets and the economy.
By this time, Tricia had been exposed to many aspects of finance and it became clear that she wanted to use her expertise to help people manage their finances and plan for their futures. Since then, much of her work has been advising people and families going through major life transitions such as divorce and death. In addition to Tricia’s financial know-how, her clients feel especially supported during these difficult occasions given her warm and caring manner.
Over the years as Tricia’s financial career was taking flight, so was she – literally – earning her pilot’s license. Flying for many years now, it’s likely that spark was lit by her father, Air Force pilot Colonel Al Bryniarski, who was a member of the 22nd Fighter Squadron, along with Buzz Aldrin and Ed White of NASA fame.
Beyond the worlds of finance and flying, Tricia is most happy and proud spending time with her three children who are all deeply immersed in school and music, and share her passion for fitness and skiing. When not at home in Hingham, the four of them spend as much time possible skiing the mountains of Vermont and out west.
With time spent in client service management, sales and as an advisor within the financial industry, Katie is well-informed to provide comprehensive, real-life guidance to clients who seek assistance with retirement planning, investment management and family finances. She also specializes in developing financial strategies for women.
Before landing at Beck Bode Wealth Management, Katie most recently advised top-level clients at Ameriprise Financial Services, having moved up from her role as client service manager. Earlier on, she was instrumental in designing successful broker/dealer conversion projects while on the sales side of the business, and assisting insurance clients with identifying the most fitting policies.
Moving to Beck Bode couldn’t have felt more right for Katie. Like her colleagues, she’d been around the big financial block and witnessed what was working and what wasn’t for clients. On top of that, she holds a deep, personal responsibility (as in will lose sleep) to every one of her clients, which is also consistent with how her colleagues operate. She’s got the independence and the resources to really ‘go to town’ for her clients and she’s thrilled about that.
When Katie steps outside of the financial world, she is most happy when she’s by the ocean. So, it was no surprise when she recently moved into a waterfront cottage in Newport, Rhode Island. Katie’s also very dedicated to a number of charities, helping with the organization of events and fundraising, including Bike MS, which she rides in annually to raise money for multiple schlerosis research. Running races, attending country concerts and following her beloved New England sports teams are also high on her list!

A financial planner for nearly 20 years now, it was in the technology arena that Jane’s career first began. Initially, a computer programmer for Children’s Hospital in Boston, she later developed programs for insurance companies including Gulf Life Insurance in Florida and State Mutual in Worcester, and for a stock market software company in Massachusetts.
From there, while living in California, Jane started Write Idea, a technical writing company whose clients included Elxsi computer. Upon returning to Massachusetts, she became a tax preparer with H&R Block. Her interest in financial planning was sparked while working there and during her experiences raising and moving a family with her husband multiple times along the West Coast. During these busy days, while her husband was helping launch a number of startups, Jane oversaw the family’s moves, finances and investment planning…leading to her eventual decision to become a financial planner.
In 2002, after several years working in the area of financial advising with the New England Advisory Group, Jane launched her fee-only financial practice, Dover Hills Financial. She established the firm to help individuals and businesses in all areas of financial planning including budgeting, insurance and risk management, employee benefits planning, investment, tax, retirement and estate planning. Ever-increasing growth in recent years prompted her to assess the firm’s operations and it became apparent that additional resources would allow her to focus more time on her clients.
At the end of a thorough and thoughtful search, it was evident to Jane that Beck Bode was the one, as the firm not only shares her ethics and standards, it offers access to unsurpassed analyst research, compliance and administrative resources, as well as a team of highly skilled financial experts. Jane remains committed to the fee-only approach, not accepting commissions or receiving any other compensation for recommending specific products.
Jane’s favorite things to do when not working or at home in Dover? Doing laps in a pool, practicing yoga or swinging a golf club!

Always intrigued by the financial industry, Vinny made a bold move switching from an established career in the health club industry to join Beck Bode on the ground floor in order to get the exposure and absorb absolutely everything he could about investing and finance. With a lot under his belt now, Vinny is instrumental in bringing in new clients and new talent for the firm, and continues to advance his career through his studies as he prepares to take his Series 65 exam.
Vinny was most recently the Director of Operations at Dedham Health & Athletic Complex, where he spent 12 years managing a number of areas within customer service, staff training programs, facilities operations and sales. Before that, he studied kinesiology and exercise science at both UMASS Boston and the University of Maine.
Like many of his Beck Bode colleagues, Vinny’s a fitness nut. When he’s not working or working out, he’s with his wife Kristen and Bernese Mountain dog Samson, preferably hanging out in Newport, Rhode Island.
